Research Peptides

We offer selected synthetic peptides for professional scientific, analytical and laboratory research purposes. The products are intended exclusively for use in appropriate laboratory conditions and are not sold as medicinal products, dietary supplements, or products intended for the treatment of humans or animals.

The products are marketed solely as research and analytical materials and are not intended for human or veterinary administration, diagnosis, treatment or prevention of disease. Their regulatory classification depends on the applicable law and facts of the product and its marketing.

What is a peptide?

A peptide is a molecular chain consisting of amino acids linked by peptide bonds. Peptides and proteins consist of the same fundamental building blocks, although they are often distinguished according to the length of the chain.

As a general convention, shorter amino-acid chains are referred to as peptides and longer chains as proteins. This is not an absolute biological boundary, and the distinction may vary depending on the scientific context.

Scientific quality and analytical control

For peptides, it is important to distinguish between nominal composition, identity and analytical purity.

HPLC (high-performance liquid chromatography) is one of the commonly used analytical methods for assessing the composition of peptide samples. Chromatographic analysis makes it possible to distinguish the target compound from several components with similar structures.

Where a Certificate of Analysis (CoA) has been issued for a product, it sets out the analytical parameters applied to the particular batch. An HPLC purity value must be interpreted together with the analytical method, specification and other quality data used. A single HPLC percentage does not, by itself, constitute a guarantee of absolute chemical purity or sterility.

Batch-specific documentation makes it possible to associate analytical results with a particular production batch.

Product form for laboratory use

Selected peptides may be supplied in lyophilised form. Lyophilisation, or freeze-drying, is a method commonly used for preserving many laboratory biomolecules.

Storage conditions, permitted temperature ranges and expected stability depend on the individual peptide and production batch. The storage and handling instructions provided with the relevant product must therefore always be followed.

Products must be handled in accordance with applicable laboratory quality, safety and waste-disposal procedures.

Research areas involving peptides

Our catalogue may contain synthetic peptides with different structures and research applications. These may include, for example:

  • BPC-157 – a peptide encountered in experimental and biomedical research;
  • TB-500 / thymosin-related peptides – synthetic peptides encountered in experimental biomedical research;
  • semaglutide, tirzepatide and retatrutide – peptide or peptide-related compounds studied in various pharmacological and metabolic research models;
  • Semax and Selank – synthetic peptides studied as research subjects;
  • Epitalon, GHK and MOTS-c – compounds associated with various areas of cellular biology, ageing and molecular biology research;
  • ipamorelin and CJC-1295 – compounds studied in experimental models involving the somatotropic axis.

The listing of these substances or research areas does not mean that the products are authorised as medicinal products in any particular jurisdiction, that they have a specific therapeutic indication, or that this website recommends their use in humans or animals.

A laboratory research product is not necessarily a medicinal product

The legal status of a product is not determined solely by its name or packaging.

For Ireland, the competent national authority is the Health Products Regulatory Authority (HPRA). For Malta, the competent authority is the Medicines Authority. The relevant authority may assess the regulatory classification of a concrete product within its legal competence.

Under applicable EU and national pharmaceutical legislation, the classification of a product may depend, among other things, on its composition, characteristics, intended or actual use, presentation, claims, pharmacological, immunological or metabolic effects, and other relevant circumstances.

The competent authority of the relevant jurisdiction may assess or determine the classification of a product where required.

We therefore treat laboratory research products solely in the context of their stated scientific and analytical use.

Intended use restrictions

All products in this category are intended exclusively for professional scientific and laboratory research.

The products are not intended for:

  • administration to humans;
  • administration to animals;
  • self-medication;
  • diagnosis or treatment of disease;
  • food, dietary-supplement or cosmetic use;
  • clinical use;
  • veterinary treatment.

We do not provide dosage, administration or treatment instructions for these products.

Laboratory compounds must be kept away from uses for which they are not intended.

Quality and documentation

For each product, the documentation relating to the specific batch should be consulted. Quality documentation may include, for example:

  • batch identification;
  • date of analysis;
  • identity or composition analysis;
  • chromatographic analysis results;
  • manufacturer specifications;
  • other relevant quality data.

A Certificate of Analysis describes the particular batch to which it relates and must not be interpreted as a general guarantee covering all products sold under the same name.

Important information for purchasers

Before ordering, professional users must ensure that the intended use, handling, import, transport, storage and use of the product are permitted in their jurisdiction and comply with applicable legislation.
